Ideal for cooling or heating clear liquids such as, but not limited to, process water, wine/juice, milk, beer, pool water, and condenser water. This style of unit is considered to be the ultimate in compact footprint, value for money and efficiency. Our technical support team sizes each exchanger for your specific applications and these heat exchangers can be selected from models designed for flow rates as low as 200 litres/hour, increasing up to 1.2 million litres/hour.

Plate Heat ExchangersAvailable with Stainless Steel components, the Alfa Laval Plate Heat Exchangers are designed to provide hygienic and maintenance-free operation to food and beverage manufacturers and removes the need for the chemical laden epoxy coatings or spray paints essential for traditional mild steel frames. The stainless steel construction has several other advantages over traditional powder coated frames, including low maintenance costs, aesthetics; elimination of painting and a sanitary finish with high corrosive resistance. The plate heat exchangers include plate materials such as 316 grade stainless steel and titanium to provide corrosion resistance.

Plate Heat Exchangers How it works...
Alfa Laval Plate Heat Exchangers consist of a number of corrugated plates with gaskets placed in grooves along the edge. The adjacent plates come into contact with each other where the ridges meet. Plates are clamped together to form counter-current flow paths. By combining various style plates and flow arrangements, the ultimate efficiency can be attained.

Dimpleflo Tube CrossSectionTeralba Industries' range of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers, also referred to as Multitube™, are ideal for fluids and gases where space (compactness) is important. The primary fluid or product is supplied to a grouping of parallel tubes while the service fluid flows between and around the tubes within the outer tube shell. The units can handle high temperatures and high pressures. Dimpled tube/pipe technology adds a new dimension to scope of use. Turbulent flow conditions are achieved at low flow rates. Up goes the efficiency!

Dimpleflo Tube CrossSection The Teralba Dimpleflo® MultitubeTM heat exchanger is a compact assembly based on traditional shell and tube principles. The unique Teralba dimple is used to increase turbulence of the product and service media. This increased turbulence results in a reduction of the total surface area required for a specific duty. A clear drainage passage in the product channels provide the ultimate in hygiene for food, pharmaceutical and chemical applications, achieved by the unique arrangements of the dimple profiles.

Dimpleflo Tube CrossSectionThis remarkable innovation was developed by the founder of Teralba Industries as a result of his observations of how much quicker liquids heat and/or cool when laminar flow patterns are disturbed or interrupted. By arranging dimples at just the right pitch and centres, the liquid is 'jostled' but not restricted and there is little change in the pressure drop characteristics Dimpleflo Tube CrossSectioncompared to plain (undimpled) surfaces. There is a HUGE change in the heat transfer rates; efficiency rates soar and the cleanability of the tubes remain closely comparable to plain tubes, as there are no continuous corrugations, which retain product/cleaning solution. The Dimple effect also reduces fouling on the tube wall surfaces which allows longer run times between cleaning cycles.

Tube in TubeTeralba Industries' range of Tube in Tube Heat Exchangers, also referred to as Monotube™, are ideally suited for aggressive applications, including products of high or changing viscosities, fluids or even slurries which contain large particulates, ultra high temperature processes, corrosive fluids, high pressured and hazardous fluids such as steam or refrigerants.

Tube in TubeThe primary fluid or product to be heated or cooled passes through the inner tube while the service fluid for heating or cooling is directed into the outer jacket. Dimpleflo can be manufactured in many different alloys, including Duplex stainless steels, titanium, hastalloy and zirconium, to suit the application.

Monotube Unit SituationThe Teralba Dimpleflo® Monotube system is a simple yet extremely versatile and effective tube heat exchanger. The dimple profiles of various configurations increase turbulence to enhance heat transfer coefficients and provide effective in-place cleaning. Modular SystemsTeralba Industries Dimpleflo® Modular heat exchanger systems can be incorporated in to Teralba's Monotube™ and Multitube™ heat exchange units and have virtually unlimited potential for configuration changes. This results in unrivalled versatility for all installation and process requirements.

The patented Dimpleflo® units consist of a number of Dimpleflo® heat exchanger modules that can be arranged or fitted together in various configurations. Tube diameters range from 19mm to over 100mm.

Modubloc SystemsTeralba Industries continues to provide heat transfer solutions with the newly released, high-flow Dimpleflo® Modubloc® heat exchangers for processing large volumes of up to 200 tonnes of product per hour with the capacity of handling pressures of up to 3625 psi/250 Bar.

Ideal for liquids, which are harder to process, the simple design of the Dimpleflo® Modubloc® means greater cleanability. It can withstand high pressures and temperatures, making it ideal for corrosive and difficult to handle products. The Dimpleflo® Modubloc® can be manufactured in many different alloys, including Duplex stainless steels, titanium, hastalloy and zirconium, to suit the application.

Modubloc Monotube UnitThe Dimpleflo® Modubloc® design uses a unique, bolt together system to join tubes enabling endless options by adding or re-configuring the heat exchanger to meet any changed or increased application in the future. It incorporates an all stainless steel tube-in-tube heat exchanger, making it totally hygienic and suitable for corrosive environments. Further efficiencies are achieved with a fully insulated modular stainless steel cabinet that minimizes any radiant energy losses and forms an aesthetically pleasing finish that is virtually maintenance-free.

Due to it's tight involute configuration, the Dimpleflo® Modubloc® provides the ultimate in high efficiency heat transfer of slurries in a compact, cost-effective design. The design builds on the renowned attributes of Dimpleflo® heat exchangers that combines a free-draining, compact configuration with extremely high heat transfer co-efficient in an overall package that has proven to be practically maintenance free.

These heat exchangers provide a clear drainage passage both in product and service channels that provide the ultimate in hygiene for food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications. The New Modubloc® is also capable of processing fluids with up to 85% solids.

Coilflo Teralba Industries Coilflo® micro heat exchangers are a unique concept that manages to retain the ultra-high efficiency heat transfer co-efficients and advantages of Teralba's renowned Dimpleflo® heat exchangers in an extremely compact, self-draining configuration. These heat exchangers are built for heating, sterilising and/or cooling of any fluid stream, liquid samples and any pumpable products.

Coilflo The cylindrical profile of the miniature heat exchangers promotes a highly turbulent flow, maximising heat transfer coefficients. Coilflo® offers cleanability and versatility with added efficiency, whilst featuring the ability to withstand heat shock loads.

Coilflo
Coilflo® is an Australian designed and manufactured compact, fully-welded heat exchanger, providing maximum product integrity which has applications across the food, dairy, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, HVAC and brewing industries. Ideal for processing low flows and sample batches, Coilflo® heat exchangers are compact and sanitary enough to be utilised in laboratories.

Coilflo® miniature heat exchangers can be constructed using duplex stainless steel and titanium, and inner tubes can be supplied ultra finished for heating and/or cooling high purity products.

Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers

Brazed Plates StackedTeralba Industries brazed plate heat exchangers compliment our range of Coilflo® designs. These units are individually selected and then quoted from our range of standard stocked units. The brazed plates are compact, rugged and cost effective, capable of withstanding high pressures and suitable for direct expanding refrigerants, heating and cooling service fluids.

For extreme heat transmission jobs, a brazed plate heat exchanger can provide a strong and efficient solution. The high heat transmission comes from the plate pattern, a number of thin, acid-resistant plates assembled as a unit. Patterns etched into the plates are rotated 180° on each alternate plate, which is designed to create a turbulent flow whilst maintaining low pressure drops. The strong turbulence prevents or minimizes blockages in the heat exchanger.

Coilflo This system effectively provides the highest thermal efficiency in the most compact design available. The plate pack, assembled with two end plates and connections, is vacuum brazed at extremely high temperatures providing a permanently sealed heat exchanger.

The units are built from 316 grade stainless steel with copper brazing plates, hence they provide exceptional corrosion resistance.

Template ImmersionTemplate immersion panels are an extremely versatile heat transfer product that can be supplied in an almost unlimited number of styles, shapes and materials. They are sized to fit into your storage/process tank, the surface area required and many other factors are selected from our computer aided design programs. You can heat or cool in the tank by pumping the service fluid through the panel which is immersed in the liquid. They can be utilized within chemical, textile, brewing, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, food, dairy, beverage and waste treatment, along with many others. Manufactured from stainless steel or a range of other alloys, the surface finishes include mill, electro-polished and machine polished.
